Refund window: 60 days after an annual auto-renewal. Monthly plans are not eligible.
Turn off McAfee auto-renewal on the web
- Go to myaccount.mcafee.com and sign in.
- Select Subscriptions.
- Select Cancel next to the subscription you don’t want to renew.
- Scroll down and select Cancel Auto-Renewal.
Timing matters with McAfee. It renews and bills you 30 days before your subscription expires, so a plan that runs out on July 8 is charged on June 8. Turn auto-renewal off more than 30 days before the end date, or you will pay for the next year.
Your current subscription keeps working until the end of its term. Turning off auto-renewal can also end extra benefits McAfee gives to auto-renewing customers.
Bought McAfee through the App Store or Google Play?
If someone other than McAfee bills you, such as Apple or Google, you have to turn off renewal with them. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription, and McAfee does not refund app store purchases.
Get a refund on a McAfee auto-renewal
- Annual auto-renewals: McAfee refunds the most recent renewal charge in full if you ask within 60 days of the charge.
- New purchases: 30 days.
- Not eligible: monthly subscriptions, app store purchases, and partial refunds for time you have used.
McAfee handles refunds through its Customer Service team by phone or chat. Sign in to your McAfee account to see the contact options. McAfee warns about fake support websites, so only use contact details from inside your McAfee account, never a number from a search result.
Does McAfee warn you before it renews?
McAfee says it emails you before it renews, and again if the price changes. It also sends a confirmation email after the charge. Because the charge lands a month before the end date, set your own reminder for at least five weeks before expiry.
