Turn off Norton auto-renewal on the web
- Go to my.norton.com and sign in.
- Open the My Subscriptions tab.
- Find the subscription and click Manage Renewal (it may say Cancel Subscription Renewal).
- Next to Plan Renewal, click Unsubscribe.
- Pick a reason and click Next.
- Norton may offer you a deal to stay. To carry on, choose the option to cancel your subscription and click Next.
- Wait for the confirmation message.
The change can take up to 24 hours to show in your account, and Norton says a confirmation email should arrive within 24 to 48 hours. Your protection keeps running until the end of the period you have paid for, then stops instead of renewing.
If you pay monthly for an annual plan, Norton asks you to contact Member Services and Support after you turn renewal off, so they can remove your saved billing details.
Bought Norton through the App Store or Google Play?
Then you have to cancel it in the store you bought it from, not in your Norton account. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Free trials from the app stores turn into a paid annual plan when the trial ends, so cancel before the last day if you don’t want it.
Get a refund on a Norton auto-renewal
- Annual plans: a full refund if you ask within 60 days of the renewal charge. The first annual charge after a free trial counts too.
- Monthly plans: refundable only within 14 days of your first purchase. Later monthly renewals are not refundable.
- Not covered: plans billed by someone else, such as your internet provider or an app store.
To ask for a refund, contact Norton Member Services and Support from the Norton contact page. Have your order number or product key ready. Norton refunds to the card you paid with and asks you to uninstall the software.
Does Norton warn you before it renews?
For annual plans, Norton emails you the renewal price and date before it charges you, and emails again if the price changes. It does not say how many days ahead, so a reminder of your own is the safe bet.
